Since my friend updated her LJ after a few months absence, and I told her I would start updating mine again if she would continue updating hers, I'm going to try to fulfill that promise. lol. Hopefully I will keep it up (even though I'm mostly on Facebook now, as is she). Anyway, I decided today to jot down a few thoughts that came to mind to me, but admittedly I did not really put much time in preparing this post  (ironic, considering the content of what I wrote). So let me just state at the beginning that it is more a case of "thinking out loud." Anyway...

Research Paper

My research paper I wrote for my Writing II class this month...(Since I had to do an argumentative essay, I decided to argue that GKC was one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century. Come on, don't pretend you're surprised I would write on him. lol.)

I have one more essay to write for my history class! I wrote 3 of the 5 sections today...hopefully I can finish it tomorrow, and then be done! Yay!

In other news, I have found it very helpful to have that shed again (mentioned in an earlier post) in order to go out to for a little more quiet. It's not always quiet outside, but it is more so than in the house, and I am able to do better at praying/reading/etc. there that I was before.

My younger niece's birthday will be coming up on July 2. She'll be turning 17. I feel like I'm getting old! No! lol.

Glad to see that the USA won their World Cup game today! Soccer is a sport that, if I had a team to root for in, say, Major League Soccer(and it was actually on TV often enough for me to watch) I would absolutely love it. Baseball and football are my two favorite sports, but it is a tossup between hockey and soccer for my third favorite...

GKC quotes

Just 50 Chesterton quotes (most of them one-liners, and none over three lines). I decided to stop at 50 because I remembered that there are limits to lengths of posts on LiveJournal, and so I decided 50 would be good enough for one post (though I have plenty more that I was wanting to post! lol.) I also document where in his writings they can be found.

No, don't worry; I'm not planning on making a lot of GKC posts on this LJ; it's just that LJ, with it's "LJ cut" seems a better place for me to store lists like this than on my GKC blog (since I'm not even aware if it's possible to do something like a "cut" on there). So that's all I'm doing right now. Back to normal stuff soon. lol.

If God's will is the best (which it is), why would we not eagerly embrace it, even if it is painful at times?

Er, yes. I realize I have not been updating this blog like I should be. Oops! I will try to fix that.

Well, this will be my last week for my "Summer I" class, which is "History Europe Post 17th-Century". Only one more essay to go! Yay! (I have written four so far). Then some time next week I get to start my "Summer II" class, which will be "Writing II." So I will have to continue writing. D'oh!

In other news, my parents yesterday helped me out by cleaning out a lot of stuff of theirs which was in my shed. That stuff had been in my shed for a long while now, since when we lost our jobs, they did not have enough money to continue renting a shed to store their stuff in, and so I had allowed them to use my shed for storing it. Unfortunately, combined with the fact that I still had a lot of books in there, it got very crowded, and I could hardly move around even to get stuff. And, in fact, I had originally bought the shed as a place to "escape" to for quiet, since inside there was so much noise.all of the time (even late at night) that nowhere else could I get some quiet (especially needful for me since what I like to do most is read and write and so forth, or, in other words, things that in particular need quiet). After not really having a place where I could "escape" to for much needed quiet for a long, long time, I explained such to my father my problem, and they decided to clear out most of the stuff that they don't really use, either placing such stuff in other places or getting rid of it altogether. Only a couple of things do they need to keep in their still, which is fine with me. Now, however, I finally have a place to go to escape. :-)

One of the things that I discovered is that it really is convenient that I bought a Sony Reader a couple of months ago. I can now download a lot of books off the Internet for free (such as from Google or archive.org) to read. :-)

OK, that's it for now, I suppose!

Also, for anyone who read this, I also ask for prayers. I would really, really appreciate them right now. Thank-you!
